The iPad

Last week saw the long awaited announcement from apple on there new product; the iPad. The iPad is basically a large iPhone, but a very powerful one at that.

I love its look and features and can’t wait to get my hand on one in March.

This App is differant from normal Sat Nav apps as it is only 5Mb is size, this is because it has no maps.  When you start it up and enter your destination, the app goes online to Trafficmasters Servers which then work out the best route taking in to account the latest traffic conditions, these are then downloaded to you iPhone.

Instructions are then given by a very clear voice with turn by turn directions. It is very simple but works very well.

Having been a TomTom user for some years, I have to say I love this app with its simple interface.

Even the Close had its fair share of the Snow.

On Friday it took me 3 hours to get to Cambridge!

Anyway, I have recently signed up to apples MobileMe Service. MobileMe as apple explains is Exchange for the rest of us and wow it works great.

Mobile Me

 MobileMe is Apple’s package of online services that includes a powerful sync feature that lets you sync across computers, an iPhone and iPod Touch. With MobileMe, you can sync your Mail accounts and email messages, Address Book contacts, iCal calendars, Safari bookmarks, and more. In addition, MobileMe gives you 20GB of online storage space and 200GB of bandwidth for transferring files.

I use it on my iPhone so we as within Microsoft Outlook 2007 at home and via the web browser at work. Its Great!

iPhone OS 3.1 also includes these features and updates:

• Remotely lock iPhone with a passcode via MobileMe
• Use Voice Control on iPhone 3GS with Bluetooth headsets
• Paste phone numbers into the keypad
• Option to use Home button to turn on accessibility features on iPhone 3GS

• Save video from Mail and MMS into Camera Roll
• Option to ”Save as new clip” when trimming a video on iPhone 3GS
• Better iPhone 3G Wi-Fi performance when Bluetooth is turned on

Kevin Nolan scored a hat-trick as Newcastle thrashed Ipswich to move two points clear at the top of the Championship table on an afternoon rich in drama and emotion at Portman Road.

There were generous tributes to former Ipswich and Newcastle manager Sir Bobby Robson before the match and during half-time.

But three goals in four first-half minutes from the visiting team ensured that it would be another miserable afternoon on the pitch for Roy Keane’s team.

Nolan opened the scoring with a header and quickly added to that with a composed finish. Ryan Taylor’s free-kick ended the quick-fire scoring spree and ensured the game was over as a contest by the break.

Nolan’s second header of the match shortly after the restart completed his hat-trick and left Keane looking furious as he watched from the home dug-out.

Ipswich have yet to win in the Championship this season and have now made their worst start to a league campaign – a sequence that increases the pressure on Keane to rapidly find a winning formula.
